By His Authority, With His Authority, and For His Glory!
About
A Peaceful Manner
We have no headquarters setup by men anywhere on this earth. The Lord’s church is the body of Christ, and he is the head Ephesians 1:22-23. The Lord’s church is chrisautonomous, self-governing without any creed book, the Bible is our only authority as to what we believe, practice and teach 2 Timothy 3:15-17.
The Bible commands our worship to be done decently and in order 1 Corinthians 14:40. Our worship is not a production, it is worship to the God of heaven. We sing songs of praise in acapella without the aid of musical instruments Ephesians 5:19. We meet every first day of the week to worship the God of Heaven, through the Lord’s Supper, the sacrifice of Christ Acts 20:7. We study and teach the word of God with his authority 2 Timothy 4:2. We pray in concise prayers 1 Timothy 2:1, James 5:13. Giving back in obedience to his word 1 Corinthians 16:1-2, 2 Corinthians 9:6-7. We have classes for all ages that covers Bible topics.
In all the things we do, whether it’s in our worship, in our events and activities, or in Bible class, our hope is to center ourselves on Jesus Christ. He is the ultimate reason of how to live our lives and he died for our sins and was resurrected so that we might have the hope of eternal life. All we are trying to do is to get closer to our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our Mission
The mission of Christ is the mission of 13th Avenue church. To teach the gospel of Christ throughout the world Mark 16:15-16. Our Lord Jesus Christ is our only savior, and there is no way apart from God except through Him John 14:6. All are guilty of sin Romans 3:23. Forgiveness and salvation are free to all in Christ Romans 1:16.
In worship and practice, we always follow the Bible without adding our thoughts, opinions and ideas about the Lord’s Church. Our fellowship is abiding in the doctrine of Christ. As Apostle John said “Whoever does not continue in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; whoever continue in the teaching has both the Father and the Son” 2 John 9.
“The Great Commission” after His resurrection, our Lord Jesus Christ appeared to his disciples and said, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned” Mark 16:16-17.
We are striving to get to Heaven and willing to help others who are willing to get to Heaven. We are not perfect, we walk by His grace, mercy and love of God to help us to serve each other.
We Believe
There is only one true God, the Creator of all things, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, existing eternally in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, full of love and glory. Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19.
We have all done wrong (Sin). This separates us from God, damages our life and the lives of those around us. God created us, loves us and desires a relationship with us. 2 Corinthians 5:15-21.
The Bible is the inspired, infallible authoritative word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of humankind and is the sole and final source of all that we believe. We accept the teaching and practice of the Bible and follow it in all matters of faith, worship, and works. 2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1:21.
That Jesus Christ was fully human and fully divine, that He lived as a perfect example, that He bore the judgment due sinners by dying in our place and that He was bodily raised from the dead and ascended as Savior and Lord to the right hand of God. Hebrews 2:24, Romans 1:3-4 1:3-4, Philippians 2:5-11.
That salvation is a gift from God, by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ; that faith shows itself in obedience to Christ through repentance, confession of faith in Him, baptism, and a life led by the Holy Spirit manifesting the Spirit’s fruit. Romans 10:9-10, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Galatians 5:16-25.
In the spiritual unity of all believes in the body of our Lord Jesus Christ, who calls us to be His disciples by embodying His love; by proclaiming the gospel of God’s redemptive love through Christ Jesus; and by caring for all God’s creation and actively seeking the good of everyone especially the poor and needy. This results in eternal life in heaven and a purpose to love God and serve our friends, family, neighbors and community. Matthew 16:18, Matthew 25:31-46, Galatians 3:28.
